Introduction

Hello, my name is Bonnie Banda. I am a practicing registered nurse and am nearing completion of the master’s portion of my education. Currently, I am employed as a school board nurse in a public school system in Central Florida.

I have been a nurse for over 30 years. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Georgia in 1976. After working in a Behavioral Residential Treatment Center for adolescents, I decided to return to nursing school. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brenau University in Gainesville, GA. in 1980.

After graduation, I was employed in the Florida Keys at a small community hospital and at a busy outpatient physician’s office. In 1983, I worked in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the out patient clinics of two military hospitals. I returned to the United States in 1990 and was employed at Lee Memorial Health Systems Pediatric Outpatient in Ft. Myers, FL. Before accepting my current position of School Board Nurse, I  worked at the Seminole County Health Department. I am currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Nursing (Clinical Nurse Leader Track) at The University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. My anticipated graduation is May, 2013.

As a future CNL, I hope to positively impact the nursing profession through my skills, experience and knowledge. My goal is to establish a Mobile Travel Clinic to meet the needs of the International Travelers of Central Florida.

Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself to you. I look forward to speaking with you personally in the future.

Respectfully,

Bonnie Sawyer-Banda
